iight this is something I don't get. lets recap. I've been gone for two work days count them Monday and Tuesday and now I get back right and Team Swagg and Deft Fusion have merged. what the hell? this isn't survivor and what the hell does that make Hasha Gure Tribal Council. what the fuck man. iight let me calm down a sec iight im cool now. lets look at this from a logical view. this a good thing because with the team merger the points are merged as well giving us the new lead. and the new Journalist squad me and Kevin on video so that should be productive as well and the journalist doing what they do best. so this maybe a good thing if we can just stop the tension and do what needs to be done. we got less than 2 weeks left people lets do this iight ttyl i got things to do iight fokes

Movie Star REEF

YOOOOOOO everybody, I just found out I'ma be an actor. LOL, y'all probably wondering wtf I'm talking about but today here at HL, two people came in to talk to me and some other students about a movie they're producing. The movie is about a slave burial ground downtown that was noticed when construction workers discovered human bones. A museum being built on the site will show the movie for years after it is finished. And you all will be able to see my brilliant acting skills. HA HA. You know I've pondered acting before, maybe this will be my big break. Just kidding, but I am definetely looking forward to doing this. When I realized I'm going to be in this movie, I immediately remembered the time I was on Reading Rainbow in my younger days. Yeah that's right, I was on that show on Channel 13. I was one of the kids discussing a children's book at the end of the show. So watch Channel 13, and maybe y'all see me u dig. I know the part HL will have in the movie will be great, so I'm not even worried. Holla at y'all later. I'm bouncin, I'm out son.

Hello to the online world once again. the last couple days at Harlem LIVE have been very calm an quiet. This is the time when Team Swagg should be getting a lot of work don, because there aren't any distractions. Unfortunately, some of my team members have not grasped the concept of attendance. It has also come to my attention that we are behind on blogs. This really got me mad because we are behind on one of the easiest ways to get points. This is not even my blog day, but I can't have my team afford to lose any more points, especially after Hasha Gure is pulling away with the lead and Deft Fusion is quickly catching up to us. All we have to do is be willing to write stories, blogs, and attend classes to get as many points as possible. It really isn't that hard, we just have to be hungry. Today was also the last day of Wednesday classes with John McKay on public speaking. I feel this class has prepared me more for the final presentation, even though I was already a good public speaker. I can remember my first day walking in the door at HL, and it is crazy that it is almost over already. I don't know how I've been living in Harlem for damn near 17 years and am just finding out about Harlem Live. It is a great program for the youth in the city to join. I have a few interesting stories I'm working on, but you'll have to wait until I'm done to find out. This place makes me feel like I'm a real journalist lol. That would be crazy if I had to chance to sit in at a post game press conference for the MLB or NBA or something. Matter of fact, I'ma look into doing that. I'll get back at y'all in a couple of days, and keep you all posted.

we are working over the same things to make some of them better or more understandable then have a better presentation so today's blog is not much different than all of the others but there is a lot more finishing then new things happening today like I am finishing the story of the WWE, what I mean by that is that I am trying to add to it while Moe is not here I was finding more pictures that go with it. Shariyf is working on some new things that we can use for the presentation 2 days from now Friday. the logo that I was working on is almost complete If we can be able to scan the picture that I have everything is perfect but other wise it will take a long time because I have to do it on the computer witch is harder but manageable and it wont look as good as I wanted it to be. In conclusion today is completion on every thing not done witch is not a lot of things to do and most of our team is not here that has been going on for the whole week so far. Today Maurice did not show up so we can get done with a story.

I know I know

i Know I know i haven't been in for a while well only a few days but i'm back and I plan on puttin some work in for the Team. anyway, since I havent been around since thursday allow me to reintroduce myself. well on friday i caught a terrible cold had a fever of 105.6 degrees Fahrenhiet but after a trip to the E.R. and a night in the Hospital it didn't faze me at all. actually after leaving the hospital at 10am Saturday I still managed to show my face 2 HL at around 2:30pm that very same day if you doubt me being there just ask Seli she'll inform you. well yea after that I headed off to work numbah 2 Toys R us Times Square. at first everything seemed normal until I was informed that after only 2 months of employment I've been promoted from a everyday Sales Associate to a Toys R Us Toy Ambassitor with more perks and more pay. the store manager actually told me that this was the first time since the store's opening back in November '01 that an employee still on 90 day probation has been promoted to a higher position. so that closed out a very promising week in my life. Now on Sunday is when I started to fall ill once again. this time with an even higher fever of 107.2 degrees but somehow I got through what my parents thought was my end. yea it took from Sunday 2 Tuesday morning to recover but I'm here typing am I not. well that brings us into Tuesday when I got a phone call from work asking me to work the late shift for that night with the promise of extra pay I agreed, so I haven't gotten a chance to sleep at alls ince breaking my high fever seing how the fever broke Tuesday Morning around 8 or 9 and me working from 12am to 9:30am today and still having to go back to work tonight from 5 to 10. so if I arrive late tomorrow or not at all then you'll definitely know why so....yea. anyways that's afew days in the life of Dennis D. Walker so incase you ain't know about my struggle and hustle(18 wit 2 jobs no kids holla at me) now you know so just........Fl0Wwwww

Tings got done today so far but I Michael have done a story even tho I am web I still come up with story's every once in a wile. I gave the story to Maurice because I am web so I could not do it and Maurice is adding to it with more detail like there info title history, match's, and legends. I am working on a Harlem live logo that I am going to put on a poster so we are more visual to everybody, most of the time people cant see use because of our little sign and with a lot of things around us its kind of hard to find our location with such a small sign that relay unnoticeable to most people that are not at all familiar with the Harlem live location. I myself had a very hard time finding Harlem live it toke me a while to find it but some how witch I don't remember I found it and this is the reason why I am making a logo or sign for us. I am also opening up chat rooms to invite people to Harlem live so we can have more people and be a bigger group.

so guys, i been missing 4 a while, i've actually been a bad combination of sick, getting ready for my vacay, and work but w/e. but i am tryin my best 2 get there 2morrrow as earlii as possible, but that's my last day of work 4 like 8 days so it mite be a lil hard gett in out earli...ne who im srii i haven't been around alot, but i kno team swagg got it son..wat wat

You wont believe the day I had but lie me tell u any way at first I woke up with my head hurting very badly, very badly I didn't even want to get up at that wake up or anything but I knew that I had to any way so I did. Wile I was on the train my head started to hurt more and started to burn some then I really did not want to go but still I was close to getting of so I couldn't turn back now. I knew I had to go to classes then to Harlem live so I had a day to go threw so I had a problem. By the time I had got to my classes it started to go down my head didn't hurt to much so I was go for a wile. Once I got to work my head started up again it started to heart a lot more then it was earlier but it then came down and I was able to think right threw. I had to send the Harlem live logo that I had worked on to Dennis so he could put it on a different profile and for other uses just to have it. then Dennis had made the video for our presentation tomorrow about advertising Harlem live and giving a tore of our working station. I was asked to make a press badge for some one on the team but she had no press badge picture so I couldn't do it and I needed three other people to be in it because there are four spots they needed to be filled. I am working on a new sign for Harlem live with the info like phone number, the location of Harlem live, and the web site.

O My goodness if u thought kevin was sick of the same songs then he has no idea of my world and trobles hes mad at the radio and im pissed at the world rite now if i wasnt so sane i'd probably lose control and wild out or something. but its all good jus gotta calm down an remeber why im here for the fun and learning of new things but wat really pissing me off is that some little kid keep changing my name on myspace i mean really come on u must either hate me or u wanna be like me. whoever is doing stop being a little as piss ant and say wat u gotta say to my fce i mreally thats some childish shit and it anit funny. A Day on 40 Deuce

Today Franky and I went to 42nd Street to pass out HarlemLive fliers. We had to pass out 400 fliers total in as little time as possible. Yesterday, Deft Fusion took 1 hour and 33 minutes to pass out the 400 fliers, but today Franky and I did it in 48 minutes. It wasn't that difficult to pass out the fliers, I just had to deal with people's attitude. One guy even snatched a flier, and I was gonna off his kofi but I was like let me chill cause I was on camera. Jose and Darryl videotaped and took pictures of us while we handed out the fliers. Hopefully, we win the flier contest, but I have confidence that we will.

Yo we had to take a team picture for our website and it came out dumb crackkkk!! Alana wasn't in the picture cause she wasn't here, but it's Team Swagg all day. I'm gonna holla at y'all later though . 100.

To day I had to fallow the red team around and wile they were passing out flyer's i had to take pictures of them along with Dennis video taping them passing out flyer's on 42Nd street, I am also making a new profile because my old one was not as long as wanted to be. Franky is making a web site for our team, he toke pictures of all of us one by one and together. I designed the Harlem live logo for my team.

Yesterday was very constructive in a way. we decided to create subdivisions in Team Swagg making Franky and Moe our new go-getta, setting up interviews and story topics etc. Alana and Shariff as our writers going to the interviews and elaborating on Franky's and Maurice's material, leaving myself on video and mikey web. The P.O.S. is finished and I'm just waiting on Alana to bring back the quotes from saturday and the voice over material so I can get to work

I wasn't at Harlem Live on Friday but my team told me they came in second place for the presentations. Rich is gettin me tight talkin bout we aint doin enough stories and blogs but it's aight. Plus he talkin about some other shit that really blew mines, but lets not get into that. Well I'm bout to do a story or something now so he won't keep complaining.

Wow

Saturday was one crazy day first we went down to the Transit Gardens. The Transit Gardens job is to decorate New York city's tranist system by the use of flowers created by the young and the old. When we first arrived we were greeted by a lady who wore sweats coverd in paint as if they had a midget paint fight and the midgets won. Next we proceeded to ask her about the place. She then went to get one of the people who workede there. She glad to help us and said that we was free to take pictures of the works of art and of the people at work. End the end we ended up getting a card so we can contact them and make up a interview date. Before we left we filmed foe a little bit and then we bolted uptown so we could put the equipment up so Melvin could close early. Thats only one part of the adventure that we took on saturday. After we stopped at McDonalds to eat we headed back downtown once more but only this time we went for our own reasons. Our first trip was to Strawberry's which was located in the Manhattan mall on 33rd street. When we arrived there we found out that it was closed so we left and went to our next destination which ws Footlocker. We went to footlocker to find my cousin so I could get some more sneakers. But because i failed to call her early she was no where to be found i thought that she had left already. We left Footlocker and walked to the train station and got on the 5 train. They stayed on the train but i got off at 125st and caught the M10 bus and got off on my stop. When i came in the house i handed 30 dollars and she asked me where i was at i told her of my day and then i tokd her i just came back from footlocker and i told her i wasn't able to find my cousin i told her that she had left she nex told me she gets off at 10. When i heard this i felt dumb.

so right now im at work. I should actually be like typing up so memo's for this offer on 80 palmer rd ( cuz u kno imma office asst. at a real estate agency, but i guess not). so im here, bored waiting for it to be 4 so that i can leave. Im gonna go with maurice and denis to do this storii 2 day, nd im actually pretti excited. You know recently I've become not so much intersted in writing journalism (if thts how you say it) rather reporting journalism, i like going out there and really talking with the people, i think its a great way to really learn about the comm. So basically after i get outta work this day should probably rock b/c after the story, and i return this dress to strawberrys, im mite go nd chill with chris nd jose nd jon nd tyrell at this partty, which should be fun i guess( even though parties are'nt really my team)

nd p(S): concerning yestrerday's presentation, i think we did much much much much much much much better than last time, but we still have a long way to go:
1. for our informerical we need to decide how we can do it so that every 1 is heard, which is very important
2. we need to take other people's idea 2 improve ours:
a: we still needa dress more professionally on fridays
b. i liked hasha gure's(?? srii i cant spell) use of the wall as a divider and i think it really worked
3. the blue team is our main competition, besides from ourselves b.c we can become highly self destructive, so yeah we need to sit down and figure out how we can get higher than them, how we can defeat the "great champions" =)

Publi Speakin'

Today we had a public speakim class over on the westside. West End to be exact, anyway with the help of Minnette Coleman we learned how to sucessfully "mingle" with a business crowd. we also learned how we should talk amongst others in a loud and professional matter. to be honest it was pretty fun and I like it. my whole team thought it was cool. Yo everybody whats good me and Shariyf just got back

Whats good everybody me and Shariyf got back we been riding bikes all day. We had mad fun. First we went to the Central Park Precinct to try to get information on a story about crime in Central Park. Then, we rode to the Central Park Conservancy on 60th Street between 5th and Madison. Shariyf and I got information on a story about pollution in NYC. We called the woman who can help us out with the story, but she was not in her office, so Shariyf left a message. Hopefully, this story will get the team going, and help us for later stories throughout the summer.

This is Shariyf from HarlemLIVE once again. On Friday, the three teams here at HL made their first presentations of the summer. After the judges comments, it was obvious they thought we made the worst presentation. I was extremely upset that they felt that way considering the time and hard work my team and I put into this presentation. I was even more upset because I am the team's leader. However, it was nothing I could do except think of ways Team Swagg could do better next time. Even after waking up to a new day I still feel just as upset about how the judges JUDGED our team. I also commend Hasha Gure and Deft Fusion for their presentations, they were very good. My last words for the day is to let the other two teams know that Team Swagg will not stay down for long.

Public Speaking Class

Today, July 11h, at 5:30pm, John Mckay came to give us an Public Speaking class. from the class, I learned about tricks to convince your audience anything. I also learned about how to tame nervousness and a lot about eye contact. I learned about the pros and cons of Power Point Presentation's. A lot of the skills I learned today, can be used for presentations and just regularly conversation I have with people. I plan to stay focused at Harlemlive. I liked the class and I appreciate John Mckay for coming out today and helping us.

Today I had learned how to edit the size of the pitcher and brightness of it, I also learned how to create the press badges on the computer. I was taught how to print and laminate them. I also got accepted in to the site. I fixed up and adjusted the logo for our team and I will put it on a computer and edit it for color and detail so it could look a lot better but also be more clear.

Today, I still was trying to think of strategies to tackle my story. It took me long enough to come up with a topic, but it's coming together gradually. I'm doing a story on the Budget Cut in the districts. It's a very interesting topic to me because it affects me as well. With all the after school programs being taken out of schools and all the fun subjects being taken out of the core curriculum, this story really explains why. So basically I am going to explore the Council itself and much more. At HarlemLive, today, I just found what I am going to be doing. That's basically it.

today our team was placed in 2nd place with 775 points on the day so far. i tried to help with a 200 point poem log but Deft Fusion just has 2 many points. anyway l8r on today i'm a leave a new verse with ya'll so watch for that peace

-in case today is a day that brings closer the fate/ of those who chase the cake
